Our best selling plunger/filter blend - smooth!

The Java Gold is our smooth, well-balanced and flavoursome blend.  Crafted by the coffee roaster for a coffee that is sweet with a good body and roasted for flavour.  Our coffee roaster says this blend has a very even balance with all flavour components.  A good option for filter or a lighter espresso option with those that buy coffee online and in our retail store.  Our coffee roaster has designed this blend by maintaining the roast to reduce bitterness.

Flavour Notes:

A smooth blend with medium acidity and soft mouth feel.  It exhibits flavours of sweet milk chocolate and malt.

Recipe:

Filter Brew Ratio: 1:16
Brew Time: Less than 2-minutes (depending on brew method).
This means that for every gram of ground coffee added into the filter there is 18 grams of hot water.  If using a plunger/French press you can add two tablespoon’s of ground coffee (approximately 14-grams), mixed with 250ml of hot water.  Still stuck?  Check out this link to learn more about brew ratios click here.

Our recipes are designed as templates for starting points and do vary depending on many other variables including personal preferences in particular.

Where it’s from:

This blend is a three bean blend with a Java Indonesian base to give the coffee its natural sweetness and smoothness.  We have worked with this farm for over 5-years now and are proud to be able to source their coffee.  South American and organic Papa New Guinea (PNG) beans are added that give this blend its distinctive character and flavours.  All origins are ethically sourced and picked based on their quality, consistency and flavour characteristics.

JAVA GOLD

I love Java Gold, it's nutty, smooth and has a distinctive taste - and always freshly ground from Meebz. I use and drink it as espresso with a dash of evaporated milk, incidentally made in the Netherlands (which mirrors their coffee cream).

Java gold strike

I had been disappointed with my purchase of a range of bulk supermarket coffee beans. I had purchased beans from Meebz more than 5 years ago, so I determined to try them again. I struck gold immediately! Although more expensive than what I had become used to, upon paying, at the counter, I was informed that I had accumulated $5 in points that were still on my account from those earlier years. Choice!
I won't be purchasing my beans from the supermarket again.
